Coming up......

October 13 - Putt Downtown for Diabetes - Beginning at 6 p.m. at Rookies' Event Center in downtown Henderson you can putt your way thorugh 9-holes while helping to raise funds for the Henderson County Diabetes Coalition. Sponsorships are $25 per person with teams of 4, with 20 teams maximum. Light snacks and beverages included. Putters provided or bring your own! Hole sponsorships are also available. Contact Karen Hill - karen.hill@grdhd.org to reserve your team.

October 17 - Fall Arrangements - Join us as we learn to make a beautiful arrangement in a vase that is preserved and can last a lifetime. Choose your time:  11:15 a.m. OR 5:15 p.m. and call the Extension Office at 270-826-8387 to reserve your spot in the Extension Education & Expo Center Kitchen. There is no charge, however space is limited.

October 29 - Comfort Foods - Join us as we try some new recipes for Fall!  We'll share different types of comfort foods and ways to prepare them. Choose your time:  11:15 a.m. OR 5:15 p.m. and call the Extension Office at 270-826-8387 to reserve your spot in the Extension Education & Expo Center Kitchen.  There is no charge, however space is limited.

Looking to November - 

November 10 - Taste of Homemakers - 11 a.m. to 12 noon - This year's theme is Gala Affair! This event highlights our local homemaker clubs who will be serving up samples of various foods. We are asking those attending this event to bring donations for our local food pantries (toiletries, non-perishable foods, or $2).  There is no charge or registration for this event. 

November 15 - Christmas Rocks! - This is a craft-type class. We will be decorating rocks! Choose your time:  11:15 a.m. OR 5:15 p.m. in the Extension Education & Expo Center Garage. Call the Extension Office at 270-826-8387 to register. There is no charge, however space is limited.

Monthly/Weekly Programs -

  • DIABETES SUPPORT Group meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Extension Education & Expo Center Kitchen. April through September ONLY.
  • HAPPY KNITTERS Homemaker Club meet each Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Conference Room in the Extension Education & Expo Center Conference Room.

Farmers Market - Visit them HERE on FaceBook - they post updates as to what is available! Market hours are 8 a.m. until sold out on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. 

Recipes from Past Programs - These are recipes andl/or information and ideas from Family and Consumer Science programs held at the Henderson County Coopeative Extension Service.

Henderson County Emergency Management has replaced their CodeRed system with the HYPER-REACH System. The new systems is  in place and you may signup to be notified by your local emergency response team in the event of emergency situations or critical community alerts.
