Amanda Hardy is the Henderson County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences.

Amanda is originally from Nashville, Tennessee and she obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in Public Health Education in 2003 and a Masters in Adult Education in 2012 from Western Kentucky University.  She joined the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service in June 2005 as the McLean County Extension Agent for FCS.  In November 2008 she transferred to Henderson County.  Amanda leads year round educational programs that promote Making Healthy Lifestyle Choices, Nurturing Families, Embracing Life as You Age, Securing Financial Stability, Promoting Healthy Homes and Communities, Accessing Nutritious Food and Empowering Community Leaders

Amanda enjoys having clientele out to the Extension office demonstration kitchen to learn to prepare easy and nutritious meals that are delicious. Food preparation programs she has conducted include Speedy Supers, Stuffing’s and Pies, Slow cooking, Plate it Up, Healthy Diabetic Plate, Freezer Meals and Taste of Homemakers.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband Clint and children Colton and Madalyn, shopping and entertaining large crowds with lots of good food.
